In 2014 a Harvard and University of California-Berkeley study revealed that Charlotte ranked 50th out of the 50 largest US cities for upward mobility. This means a child born in poverty in Charlotte doesn’t have the same opportunity to move up the income ladder as in other cities.
Community Link invites you to learn more about the factors contributing to this lack of opportunity in our community, in particular the shrinking availability of affordable housing.
Your speaker:
Matt Martin is Regional Executive, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Charlotte Branch. He is a member of the CharMeck Opportunity Task Force, and Community Link’s Board of Directors Chairperson.

For one night only, you are invited to experience Charlotte’s most storied and refined members-only venue: The Charlotte City Club.
Situated on the top two floors of the Interstate Tower on 121 West Trade, the Club has been where big business deals have been brokered over martinis in Charlotte since 1917.
Bring a friend for an evening of cocktails and conversation, and enjoy the refined atmosphere, impeccable service, and breathtaking city skyline views from the top of the Interstate Tower. The City Club has generously offered to donate 15% of all proceeds from the night back to Community Link to help people who are homeless or struggling to afford housing.
This is a free event, and open to Club members and non-members. You may purchase cocktails, wine, and beer (credit cards only as this is a cashless club). Guests are encouraged to stay for dinner and experience the City Club’s exceptional menu. Please bring a friend to support Community Link and enjoy the Club!
