Homeless To Housing Program
Homeless to to Housing is one of our three main programs feeding into our efforts to help individuals obtain and sustain housing. We define homelessness in two ways:
- Literally homeless: living in the streets, in your car, in an emergency shelter, or another dwelling not fit for human habitation, or temporarily residing in a motel/hotel with a third party organization paying for that stay.
- Imminently at risk of homelessness: in housing with a lease that will be lost within two weeks and no other housing and support has been identified.
Our services:
- Homeless to Rental Housing: Helping homeless individuals and families obtain and sustain appropriate rental housing. Visit our page for more information and to get help. Homeless Veterans may want to learn about our Supportive Services for Veterans and Families (SSVF).
- Travelers Aid: Provides free Greyhound vouchers to assist individuals fleeing domestic violence, just released from jail, or experiencing a medical crisis who need relocation outside of Mecklenburg County to a safe, stable, and supportive home.
